Boxing superstar Claressa Shields will return to her hometown of Flint, Michigan, on February 2, 2025, to headline a highly anticipated fight card broadcast live on DAZN. Shields, widely regarded as one of the greatest female boxers of all time, will face challenger Danielle Perkins for the Undisputed Heavyweight World Championship at the Dort Financial Center.

The bout marks a significant milestone for Shields, who has already claimed undisputed titles across three weight classes. Known as “The GWOAT” (Greatest Woman of All Time), Shields (15-0, 2 KOs) is determined to deliver a thrilling performance in front of her hometown fans.

“This fight is about more than just defending my titles,” Shields said in a statement. “It’s about representing Flint, the city that made me who I am. I’m ready to put on a show for my people and prove why I’m the best in the world.”

Her opponent, Danielle Perkins (5-0, 2 KOs), is no stranger to the spotlight.  A former standout college basketball player from Brooklyn, New York; Danielle is coming to the ring determined to prove age is nothing but a number. The 42-year old 6’0″ Southpaw who turned pro in 2020 at the age of 37 comes well equipped as a champion in the amateur ranks, winning the bronze medal at the 2018 World Championships and gold in 2019.

“I respect Claressa Shields and everything she’s accomplished,” Perkins said. “But on February 2, I’ll show the world that her reign at the top is over.”

The event promises to be a celebration of Shields’ Flint roots, with organizers highlighting local talent on the undercard. Several up-and-coming fighters from the area are expected to showcase their skills, adding to the excitement of the night.

Tickets for the fight are on sale now, with DAZN providing global coverage for fans unable to attend in person. As anticipation builds, the spotlight will remain firmly on Shields as she looks to cement her legacy in the sport of boxing.

This matchup, pitting the hometown hero against a formidable challenger, is poised to deliver drama, intensity, and a potential career-defining moment for both fighters. Boxing fans worldwide will be watching closely as Flint takes center stage in the world of combat sports.
