BET is set to relaunch its beloved music program 106 & Park in 2025, reimagined for the online and digital era, according to BET President and CEO Scott Mills. The reboot aligns with the series’ 25th anniversary and promises to recapture the spirit of the original while leveraging modern platforms.
“We understand people love 106 & Park,” Mills stated. “The fact that it doesn’t work as a linear television show doesn’t mean it’s over. We can bring 106 & Park back as a podcast. We can bring 106 & Park back as a digital experience.”
The original 106 & Park, which premiered on September 11, 2000, quickly became a cornerstone of urban American pop culture, showcasing the best in hip-hop and R&B music videos. Airing weekdays at 6:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. CT, the program was a vital hub for artists and fans alike, bridging the gap between the music industry and its audience. After a successful 14-year run, the show concluded in a digital-only format on December 19, 2014.
The upcoming reboot aims to preserve the essence of the show while embracing the evolving ways audiences consume content. Mills hinted at a variety of formats, including podcasts and other digital experiences, tailored to modern viewers’ preferences.
The announcement has sparked excitement among longtime fans, who fondly remember 106 & Park as a key platform for discovering new music and engaging with artists. The revamped series is anticipated to continue that legacy in an innovative and contemporary way.
Further details about the format and specific release date are expected in the coming months.
