At just 20 years old, Dedrick Crocklem 3-0, (2K.O.) has built a reputation as one of the most disciplined and technically sound young boxers in the U.S. His crisp jab, balanced stance, and intelligent movement have earned him praise from respected trainers and analysts alike. On June 14th, 2025, in front of a packed house, Dedrick Crocklem put on a show for his home crowd. Hosted at the (Emerald Queen Casino & Hotel) Dedrick ‘Yung Hitta’ Crocklem vs. Manuel Rojas Esquivel was one of the most anticipated bouts of the full card presented by EQC Boxing present The Main Event sponsored by World Fighting Champions. The card didn’t disappoint, with Crocklem defeating Manuel Rojas Esquivel in a unanimous decision. To be honest, it was a total domination as Crocklem dropped Esquivel twice in the 3rd round.
It was obvious from the opening bell that Crocklem was sharp and well trained using carefully guided blows, executing with precision. Crocklem showcased superior footwork, sharp counterpunching, and a stiff jab that kept Rojas on the defensive. Rojas, ever durable, looked to pressure Crocklem throughout the fight but struggled to land cleanly against the younger fighter’s defense.
Crocklem landed the more accurate and effective shots, especially with straight rights and body work in the mid-rounds. Fighting just minutes from where he grew up, Crocklem has the opportunity to cement himself as a national name. And that he did!
In his professional career, Crocklem has now won all three of his fights, the first two by knockout. His debut professional bout was against Nesly Trezile in January 2025, which he won by TKO in the second round, and his second was against Dionne Ruvalcaba in March with a first round TKO.
“This isn’t just another fight,” Crocklem said at Thursday’s press conference. “I know what Manuel brings. But I’m sharper, I’m faster, and I’ve trained to win every round. Tacoma will see that.”
What’s Next for Crocklem
Dedrick “Yung Hitta” Crocklem has passed every test so far with poise and skill. His performance against Rojas showed he can handle a savvy veteran — the next phase is about proving he can command the spotlight and perform against rising contenders. Perhaps a televised fight on Showtime, ESPN, or DAZN or a co-main event slot on a major card featuring names like Devin Haney, Subriel Matías, or Teofimo Lopez. Dedrick Crocklem, a nine-time national amateur champion, inked a long-term promotional contract with Top Rank in late 2024.
