These days, it seems K.Dot is not easing up; not even a lil bit. Fresh off of the bombshell release of his new album GNX, word circulating is that a deluxe edition is on the way. While appearing on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Gunplay let the cat out the bag telling that Kendrick Lamar has a deluxe version dropping right around the corner. If Gunplay’s assumption is correct, it would mark K.Dot second project released via PGLang / Interscope. Lamar’s previous albums were all released on Top Dawg Entertainment.

Since the release of GNX last Friday, the album has racked up some serious numbers with over 40 million first-day streams on its first day. While simultaneously occupying the top 10 spots on almost every music related chart, GNX – by single is performing crazy work with nearly 4 million streams per song. Simply Amazing! Featuring the likes of Roddy Ricch, SZA, YoungThreat, AzChike, Hitta J3, Wallie the Sensei, and Dody 6, GNX is the perfect antidote for those who appreciate real West Coast hip-hop. Produced by Mustard, Sounwave, Sean Momberger, Kamasi Washington, Jack Antonoff, and Mr. Kendrick himself, GNX is 44 minutes and 20 seconds of pure perfection.

A powerful force in hip-hop at only 37, Kendrick Lamar has been on a mission with 17 Grammy Award wins since his debut album M.A.A.D. City in 2012. In 2024 Kendrick Lamar has already secured seven Grammy nominations which include “Not Like Us”. Kendrick is the hands down  favorite to win song of the year, best rap song, best rap performance, and record of the year.

Kendrick Lamar’s GNX is poised to change the entire industry. The critical acclaim surprise album has garnered some of the highest reviews from music writers and journalists. The album cover, ‘Kendrick Lamar standing at the rear of his 1987 Buick Grand National Experimental is a nod to the exact model his father had at his birth. Talking about symbolic!

If rumors are true, a GNX deluxe version would be a fitting appetizer for Kendrick Lamar’s appointment as the maestro at the Super Bowl Halftime Show which will not disappoint, I promise!
