UK’s fast-rising rapper Nemzzz and Atlanta’s own Latto have crossed oceans and cultures to deliver one bold new collaboration, “ART.” Released late last week in route to a Milli, the track pairs two artists at the peak of confidence and creativity, and showcases how the lines between U.S. and UK rap are becoming non existent.
The single arrives during a particularly fruitful season for both artists. Nemzzz is fresh off the deluxe release of his standout 2024 project, Rent’s Due, a body of work that’s catapulted him from Manchester mainstay to a rising name on global playlists. Meanwhile, Latto’s long crowned “Queen of Da Souf” continues to ride the wave from her 2024 release Sugar Honey Iced Tea, with its star-studded feature list and bonus drop earlier this year.
On “ART,” Nemzzz and Latto are exactly what the title suggests: walking, talking pieces of modern hip-hop bravado. The beat — a trap-fueled collaboration between producers Tay Keith and Boi-1da — stomps and slides with the confidence of a high-speed car chase. For Nemzzz, who’s usually heard over grime-influenced, moody trap beats, this is a new palette. But he wears it well, delivering slick, calculated bars with a flow that never sweats.
But where Latto shines on “ART” is in her willingness to adapt. Many U.S. rappers have dipped their toes into UK culture, but rarely do they try the slang or cadence. Latto takes the risk, pulling off lines like “peng tings” and “mad bruv” without sounding like a parody. It’s tongue-in-cheek, yes, but it’s also a genuine testament to her ability to mold her persona without losing authenticity.
For Latto, “ART” is another strategic flex in a year packed with high-profile wins. Following Sugar Honey Iced Tea, which featured collaborations with Playboi Carti, Megan Thee Stallion, Ciara, Teezo Touchdown, and Cardi B, she’s kept the pressure on. The bonus edition, released in January includes new verses and remixes that dominated both airwaves and social timelines.
Nemzzz has definitely cracked the code. His cadence is minimalist, clean, and contemporary. His bars are polished without losing edge and his aesthetic is a mix of sportswear chic and gritty realism which travels well on TikTok and Instagram reels alike. That’s made him a playlist regular on Apple Music’s Rap Life, Spotify’s Most Necessary, and even Ebro Darden’s Apple 1 picks.
