Steve Mensch, the president and general manager of Tyler Perry Studios, tragically died on December 6, 2024, when the single-engine plane he was piloting crashed in Homosassa, Florida. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that Mensch was found dead at the scene of the crash just after 8 p.m. in Citrus County, Florida. The plane, a Vans RV-12IS, reportedly overturned on a road near a residential area. Mensch, a highly respected figure in the entertainment industry, was known for his leadership at the Atlanta-based studio and his contributions to film production.

Tyler Perry Studios expressed profound sadness, honoring his dedication and impact on their operations. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. The company and those who knew him have refrained from further comments as they process this devastating loss.
